CPSD

The subject covers citizenship, personal, social, relationships, sex, health, careers and economic education. The programme of study is designed to support students in developing relevant life skills and equip them with the knowledge they require to lead a happy successful life. They develop self-awareness, motivation, empathy, social skills and the ability to manage feelings effectively. These social and emotional aspects of learning are an important part of a holistic education.

Through CPSD students will learn

  • how to engage in discussion and debate relevant to topical and controversial issues
  • about rights, responsibilities, duties, freedoms, laws, justice and democracy
  • how to deal with changing situations in their personal and social development
  • how to stay in good health
  • about the workplace, careers, enterprise, further and higher education, economic wellbeing and financial capability
